  • EPA Publishes Additional Corrections to the May 2024 Legacy Rule

    On January 16, 2025, EPA published a direct final rule and companion proposal to correct additional errors and clarify several provisions in the new CCR regulations for inactive surface impoundments at inactive electric utilities and CCR management units.

  • EPA Denies Alabama CCR Permit Program Application

    On May 23, 2024, EPA announced the denial of the application submitted by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management to allow the Alabama CCR permit program to operate in lieu of the federal CCR program. 

  • Puerto Rico Southern Aquifer Water Sampling Project

    Between April and May 2023, EPA conducted sampling of drinking water wells and the Guayama Drinking Water Treatment Plant in southern Puerto Rico. Access the sampling report, results, and presentation slides.
