Can entities with a within a partnership application have varying defined goals, i.e., separate projects that fall under different funding opportunities?
We do have an FAQ on this – please see FAQ titled Our agency is considering applying for two projects within one grant application; is it better to submit them as two separate applications?.
Applicants can compile multiple projects or multiple goals and outputs within the same project. When you do that, however, it can get more difficult to make sure that all requirements are met or that all information is being provided for each of the project areas that will be assessed and scored (including section 2 of the project narrative – the project workplan).
Sometimes it can make more sense for applicants in that scenario to maybe wait and have one entity apply this year and the other entity apply next year, with those being two separate projects.
However, there's no restriction. You can embed it in the same one.
Please note that you as a grantee would have to report on all aspects of your project, as part of your semiannual reports. It's definitely doable; applicants should just consider whether or not it truly makes sense.
