In FY 2022, EPA reduced its Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 59.1 percent compared to FY 2008.

EPA has reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions primarily by improving the energy efficiency of its facilities and continuing to purchase and generate renewable energy. EPA has also reduced total fleet fuel consumption and increased its percentage of alternative fuel use compared to petroleum.
