EPA Partnerships with Public Health Associations

EPA partners with a number of public health organizations to share critical information, enhance the communication and translation of research and activities, improve access to tools, and collaborate on specific projects.

Human Health Exposure & Health in the Report on the Environment

EPA’s Report on the Environment includes indicators that address three fundamental trends in human exposure and diseases or conditions that may be associated with environmental factors: (1) human exposure to environmental contaminants; (2) health status; and (3) disease and conditions.

Human Health Risk Assessment

Our researchers conduct human health risk assessments to estimate the nature and probability of adverse health effects in humans who may be exposed to chemicals in the environment. EPA’s Health and Environmental Risk Assessment Research Program is designed to develop and apply state-of-the-science research to characterize the impacts on human and ecological systems, whether they result from exposure to single, complex, or multiple physical, chemical, or biological stressors.
