Healthy Watersheds Protection Email Listserv

The purpose of this email list is to provide an open forum for the posting and discussion of news and information related to the assessment, identification and protection of healthy watersheds. Please subscribe to this list to receive updates from the EPA's Healthy Watersheds Program and to contribute to the discussion. Open to State, Territory and Tribal water quality programs; other government agencies; non-profit organizations; colleges/universities; and others interested in joining a community of practice focused on healthy watersheds protection. 

Joining hwp_info

Send an e-mail message to lyris@lists.epa.gov and include in the subject line or the body of the message:

Subscribe hwp_info [Your First Name] [Your Last Name] (e.g., Subscribe hwp_info John Smith)

Please use your actual name when subscribing. Subscription requests that lack valid names will be rejected. You will receive a message upon acceptance or rejection of your request. Confirmed subscribers will also receive an automated welcome message that includes important information about their subscription.

Contributing to hwp_info

To post a message to the list, send it to hwp_info@lists.epa.gov. Only subscribers can post messages.

Attachments Not Allowed - The EPA does not permit sending of attachments via electronic lists. Please do not attempt to send attachments to the list. Messages posted to hwp_info may specify arrangements for sharing files off-list (e.g., offering to send files privately upon request or providing links to webpages for download).

Leaving hwp_info

To unsubscribe from the hwp_info list, do one of the following:

1. Follow the instructions at the footer appended to every posted message.

2. Send a blank message to: hwp_info-unsubscribe@lists.epa.gov

Managing your subscription

You may send list commands directly from the e-mail address associated with your subscription. Below is a list of the commonly used commands. In all cases, the default server address is lyris@lists.epa.gov. The commands may be placed in either the subject line or in the body of the message and should not include any other information. 

  • set hwp_info digest - To receive the list in Daily Digest mode (i.e., the previous day's worth of postings compiled in a single e-mail available after midnight Eastern Time)
  • set hwp_info nomail - To temporarily suspend mail from hwp_info
  • set hwp_info mail - To resume mail following a change to "nomail" setting
  • set hwp_info ack - To receive acknowledgement of your own posts via confirmation message
  • set hwp_info noack - To stop receiving acknowledgments of your own posts
  • set hwp_info repro - To receive copies of your own posts
  • set hwp_info norepro - To stop receiving copies of your own posts
  • set hwp_info pw=mypassword - To set your password for the first time, where "mypassword" is the password of your choice
  • set hwp_info oldpw=old_password pw=new_password - To change your existing password, where "old_password" is your existing password and "new_password" is the new password of your choice
  • query hwp_into - To determine membership settings
