Summary

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to issue an Underground Injection Control (UIC) permit related action, under the authority of the Safe Drinking Water Act and UIC Program regulations, to the East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District (ECCV) by modifying the Final Permit renewal (final permit) issued on April 23, 2020. The proposed modifications would change well construction and plugging and abandonment requirements for the DI-1 well. The well is located in Adams County, Colorado.

The modifications propose a change to the packer depth in the DI-1 well construction from 100 feet (ft) to 140 ft above the top open perforation at 9,152 ft and allows existing packers to remain in the well if the packer location does not prevent the passage of geophysical logging tools or placement of cement during plugging and abandonment. Otherwise, the packers must be removed.
