2019 NPDES General Permits for Aquaculture Facilities in Idaho

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is now the permitting authority for IDG131000 facilities. EPA remains the permitting authority for IDG133000 facilities.

Below are EPA's 2019 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permits and supporting documents for aquaculture facilities in Idaho (excluding facilities in the Upper Snake-Rock subbasin).

  • Permit numbers: IDG131000 & IDG133000
  • Effective date: December 1, 2019
  • Permits expire: November 30, 2024

Note: When these permits were reissued, EPA separated discharges from aquaculture facilities located in Indian Country under a separate general permit number (IDG133000) from the pre-existing permit number (IDG131000), which now covers only discharges to state waters. This change facilitated the transfer of IDG131000 to Idaho in 2020 as part of the phased implementation of Idaho’s administration of the NPDES Program. EPA remains the permitting authority for IDG133000.

All permittees, please use Central Data Exchange for submitting updated Notices of Intent (NOIs).

Facilities on Tribal land (IDG13300X):

  • Submit any permit-related notices (e.g., notice of transfer or termination of coverage) to EPAR10WD-NPDES@epa.gov.
  • Submit any compliance-related reports (e.g., annual reports, corrective action) to EPA as attachments to NetDMR.

The file name of electronic attachments must be as follows: YYYY_MM_DD_IDG13300#_[submittal type] (where YYYY_MM_DD is the date that the permittee submits the written notification, # is the permittee's unique identifier under the general permit, and [submittal type] is the type of submittal (i.e., Annual Report, Corrective Action)).
