Summary

The EPA is proposing to modify its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the City and Borough of Wrangell Wastewater Treatment Plant in Alaska.

The EPA renewed Wrangell’s 301(h)-modified NPDES permit on December 5, 2024. Since the permit was issued, the location of the outfall has changed due to damage by a boat anchor.

Repairs have been completed and the outfall is now located approximately 125 feet northwest of its original location. The permit has been modified to reflect the new location of the outfall and associated receiving water sampling sites.

Comments will only be accepted on the modified parts of the permit. For a complete description of the proposed modification, please refer to the fact sheet document below.
