8. Emission Control Technology

The company proposes to install air quality control systems consisting of overfire air, new low NOx burners on units 5 and 6, SO2 and HAP acid gas control via spray dryer absorbers  on 5, 6, and 7, and dry sorbent injection on 8 and 9.  Powder activated carbon injection for  Hg control currently on 7, 8, and 9, to be added to 5 and 6.  Existing fabric filters and booster  fans associated with retired boilers 1-4 will be reused for particulate removal for 5 and 6.
