Conclusion of Pilot and Implementation Strategy for Use of Standardized Templates for Pet Spot-on Incident Reporting

On July 26, from 2-3 p.m. ET, EPA is hosting a follow-up technical webinar for registrants of Pet Spot-on Products. The webinar will include discussion on using the new standardized templates for enhanced incident reporting. To use the time most efficiently, EPA invites attendees to submit template-related technical questions to Dr. Julie Breeden-Alemi at prior to the webinar on July 26. Materials for the webinar can be found below. Participate in the July webinar.

As part of the Pet Spot-on Enhanced Reporting Pilot, five registrants volunteered to submit quarterly pet spot-on product incident and sales data for 2016 using EPA’s draft standardized reporting templates. Throughout the duration of the pilot, EPA sought comment from the public and the pilot participants to inform the usability and feasibility of the templates. EPA adjusted the templates accordingly and determined that use of the standardized templates provides data in a format that can be readily analyzed in a meaningful way and will improve the Agency’s ability to evaluate the safety of pet spot-on products.

In May 2018, EPA hosted a webinar to discuss the conclusion of the Pet Spot-on Enhanced Reporting Pilot and describe the implementation process for using EPA’s standardized templates. Manufacturers of all spot-on products with registrations that require the submission of enhanced reporting and manufacturers submitting new spot-on products for registration were encouraged to attend the webinar.
