CAP88-PC Version 4.1.1 Downloads and Supporting Documents

CAP88-PC (Clean Air Act Assessment Package - 1988) computer model is a computer code for estimating dose and risk Probability that an animal or individual exhibits a particular adverse effect for a specified exposure, expressed on a probability scale of 0 to 1. May be expressed as the proportion of a population effected and often converted to the percent effected. from emissions of radioactive material to the air. CAP88-PC is a regulatory compliance tool under the National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs). Version 4.1.1 is the most recent version of the code and may be used to demonstrate compliance with NESHAPs Subpart H.  See the Notice of Availability for the previous version, CAP-88 PC Version 4.1, from the Federal Register, March 5, 2020.

The STARGET utility converts meteorological data in the STability ARay (STAR) format to a *.wnd file for use in CAP88-PC.  A beta version of the STARGET utility is available for download.

This report provides specific test case runs to show Version 4.1 properly generates results that agree with independent calculations for air concentrations and ground deposition rates. It includes the “Modtest” run on historical data from the Portsmouth, Ohio site which has previously been used for model verification. These datasets and reports work with both Versions 4.1.1 and 4.1.
  • CAP88-PC v. 4.1.1 Testing Report (pdf) (822.61 KB)
