The District of Columbia (DC) Government is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Distributor. The DC Government runs a Sustainable Purchasing Program, which began recognizing Safer Choice-labeled products as early as 2010, when the District Council passed the “Procurement Practices Reform Act.” This act recognized the Safer Choice label as a credible environmental standard and encouraged use of labeled products. Safer Choice commends the DC Government for requiring Safer Choice in contracts, offering trainings for stakeholders, and conducting strong outreach activities.

GreenStar Hub, Forest Hills, NY 

GreenStar Hub
GreenStar Hub is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Distributor. This organization offers a group-buy marketplace for sustainable products and services and is a technology provider for businesses and governments. Safer Choice recognizes GreenStar for working in underserved markets, including New York City schools and animal hospitals, promoting the Safer Choice label through training, and using the label in highly visible ways, for example, in social media communications and a mobile app.

PRIDE Industries, Roseville, CA 

PRIDE Industries
PRIDE Industries is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Distributor. PRIDE Industries is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit employers of people with disabilities and provides outsourcing solutions that meet the manufacturing and services needs of companies and government agencies nationwide. Safer Choice commends PRIDE Industries for its prominent use of the Safer Choice label on its products and for its educational and trade show promotions. The company reaches large-volume markets and specifically explains the meaning of the Safer Choice label. Also, PRIDE Industries emphasizes the importance of safer products to sensitive populations, opening new markets for the Safer Choice label.

Solutex, Inc., Sterling, VA 

Solutex, Inc.
Solutex, Inc. is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Distributor. The company is a distributor of janitorial and building maintenance supplies committed to only selling products that contain safer, readily biodegradable surfactants and other safer ingredients. Safer Choice recognizes Solutex Inc.’s achievements in selling safer products that perform well and discontinuing sales of less sustainable options. The Safer Choice label is prominent on Solutex products, and the company provides education materials for consumers.
