Community Expectations Agreement for Sustainable Communities Accelerator Network

Participants will be asked to sign this Community Expectations Agreement when they commit to participating in the Sustainable Communities Accelerator Network.

Community Expectations Agreement

The Sustainable Communities Accelerator Network consists of six monthly, virtual workshops followed by a single day, in-person convening. This is a highly interactive program, and active participation is an expectation and norm. Each participating team is expected to participate in each component of the program.

1. Engagement: I will attend and participate fully during each of the six workshops, including discussions, breakout groups and activities. If extenuating circumstances prohibit my participation, I will let EPA staff know in advance. I will attend the final convening in-person unless financial or other circumstances prohibit my in-person participation. In that case, I will attend the convening virtually.
2. Networking and Community: I will join and use the Sustainable Communities Accelerator Network LinkedIn Group throughout the program to share experiences, ask questions, review notes and activities from each session and interact with other participants as appropriate.
3. Communication with EPA Program Coordinators: I will use the program to implement a local policy or action priority for my community. If circumstances change regarding the planned policy or action priority, I will discuss this change with the program coordinators for their information and awareness.
4. Continuity of Participation: If circumstances arise that will prevent me from completing the program, I will notify the EPA program coordinators as soon as possible. I will then identify someone from my community to take my place and continue the work. 
5. Leadership: I understand that I will be invited to  share my expertise and knowledge with the peer network through presentations, discussion and other opportunities.
6. Inclusivity: We are here to do our own work and to be in supportive community with one another.  I will listen deeply and respect everyone’s individual challenges and experiences.
