Final Issuance of EPA UIC Class VI Injection Well Permit and Injection Depth Waiver – Carbon Storage Solutions, Front Range Storage Complex, Windsor, Weld County, Colorado

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8 Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program is issuing one Class VI permit to Carbon Storage Solutions for injection activity into the Front Range 1-1 well. The permit will allow for injection of carbon dioxide produced from ethanol production from the Front Range Energy facility into the Lyons Formation.

PERMIT APPEAL PROCEDURES: Any person who filed comments on or participated in a hearing on the draft permit can appeal the final permit by filing a written petition for review with the Clerk of the EPA Environmental Appeals Board (EAB). The procedures for filing an appeal can be found at 40 CFR § 124.19. Additionally, any person who failed to file comments or participate in a hearing on the draft permits may petition for administrative review of any permit conditions set forth in the final permit decision, but only to the extent that those final permit conditions reflect changes from the proposed draft permit. A petition for review must be filed within thirty (30) days after service of notice announcing EPA’s final permit decisions.
