Supporting Documents for the UIC Class VI Proposed Rule

In July 2008, EPA published the Federal Requirements Under the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program for Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Geologic Sequestration (GS) Wells Proposed Rule for public review and comment. The comment period closed December 24, 2008.

    This paper describes stakeholder-developed models for site stewardship at geologic sequestration (GS) sites, and summarizes examples of federal programs that may inform development of alternative models for stewardship of GS after site closure.
  • Geologic CO2 Sequestration Technology and Cost Analysis - Technical Support Document (pdf) (345.74 KB, June 2008, 816-B-08-009)
    This Technology and Cost (T&C) Document describes the costs of specific technologies and operating practices that could be applied to underground geologic sequestration of CO2. Examples are provided for both “commercial scale” and “pilot scale” geologic sequestration projects.
