Building Access

The EPA Region 4 office is located is located on floors 9 through 16 of the building.

The SNAFC is a 24-hour building. Visitor access hours are 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on weekdays. There is limited access to the building after hours and on weekends. The main entrance to the building is located on Forsyth Street. Visitors must go through the metal detector, sign in with the security desk and be accompanied by an employee.

You will need to show a photo ID to enter the building.

Driving Directions

Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center (SNAFC) is located in downtown Atlanta at the intersection of MLK, Jr. Drive and Forsyth Street, SW.

  • From interstate 75/85 Southbound
    Exit #248A (Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive/State Capitol)
    Proceed several blocks, turn right on Forsyth Street.
    SNAFC is on left, between MLK, Jr. Drive and Alabama Street.
  • From Interstate 75/85 Northbound
    Exit #246 (Fulton Street/Central Avenue)
    From Central Avenue turn left on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive;
    Proceed several blocks, turn right on Forsyth Street. SNAFC is on left between MLK, Jr. Drive and Alabama Street.
  • From Interstate 20 Eastbound
    Exit #56B (Windsor Street/Spring Street/Stadium)
    Left on Spring Street. Right Trinity then left on Forsyth St. SNAFC is on left between MLK, Jr. Drive and Alabama Street.
  • From Interstate 20 Westbound
    Exit #58A (Capitol Avenue) turn right
    From Capitol Avenue turn left on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive;
    Proceed several blocks, turn right on Forsyth Street. SNAFC is on left between MLK, Jr. Drive and Alabama Street.

Parking is limited around the building.

Airports

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the busiest airport in the United States. It's located about ten miles south of the SNAFC and is accessible by public transportation, cab or hotel shuttle; the trip is usually about 20 minutes.

Public Transportation

  • Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)  runs trains and buses. The closest rail station is the Five Points station, across the street from the SNAFC. It is the crossing point for the North-South rail line and the East-West rail line. Use their Plan a Trip 
  • Amtrak comes into the Atlanta Station at 1688 Peachtree Street, about four miles north of the EPA office
  • GDOT511 from the Georgia Dept. of Transportation

Taxis

Cabs are readily available on most downtown Atlanta streets. Tell driver you are going to the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Building on the corner of MLK, Jr and Forsyth Street, SW.  More Atlanta cab information.
