Legal Clerkships in EPA's Seattle Office (Region 10)

What Type of Work Will I Do?

The Pathways Program intern will primarily conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, but also have the opportunity to attend negotiations with regulated entities and meetings with representatives of other agencies, as well as work on special projects. Opportunities may also arise to participate in administrative enforcement hearings or attend court proceedings.

Who Should Apply?

Second year law students with strong research and writing skills and a demonstrated interest in environmental law and policy are encouraged to apply.

Openings for a GS-7 Law Clerk will be announced via USAJOBS.

About Region 10's Office of Regional Counsel

EPA’s Region 10 Office of Regional Counsel provides legal support to the regional office in environmental counseling, enforcement, and general law matters.

Our attorneys handle matters arising under numerous environmental regulatory statutes including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act.

Regional attorneys work on judicial and administrative enforcement litigation, cleanup and cost recovery negotiations, administrative order issuance, permit drafting, and the interpretation of statutory and regulatory provisions.
