WASP Command Line Tool

This tutorial will take you through the process of using the WASP Command Line Tool. What is the Command Line Tool? You can build batch files to execute a string of WASP input files. There is also another utility available in the WASP installation directory called WXS (WASP Execution Supervisor).

Introduction to WASP8

Introduction to the Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP8).  This is the webinar that was presented as part of EPA's National Water Quality Modeling Workgroup on July 12, 2017.  Takes you through the history of WASP to building a WASP Input File

Modeling Dissolved Oxygen in the Aquatic Environment

This webinar describes how to model dissolved oxygen in the aquatic environment. The webinar first provides an overview of how dissolved oxygen functions in rivers and lakes (e.g., sources, sinks, processes). The presenter then provides a brief overview of common dissolved oxygen models. Finally, the presenter discusses how to model dissolved oxygen, with an emphasis on the importance of sources/sinks and meeting various water quality standards.

WASP8 Interface - Building a Steady State Example

This example will take the user through building a steady state Streeter-Phelps simulation. It introduces the use of the WASP8 User Interface.

Modeling Nutrients in Rivers, Streams, Lakes, Reservoirs, and Estuaries

This webinar will present information related to nutrient modeling in in Rivers, Streams, Lakes, Reservoirs, and Estuaries. The webinar will discuss the major differences among these systems, and how nutrient modeling can vary. Three case studies are presented to illustrate how nutrient modeling has been applied.

Nutrient Cycles, Potential Impacts on Water Quality, and Developing Nutrient Endpoints

This webinar will present information related to nutrient modeling and will include topics such as nutrient cycling, common nutrient related problems (e.g, eutrophication, low D.O., fish kills, and algae blooms), and critical parameters and driving processes. Speakers will also discuss developing nutrient-sensitive endpoints for nutrient modeling.

Interpreting and Using Water Quality Models

This webinar explores what can be accomplished with a calibrated model. Topics include what can be expected in a final model package and report, how to determine if a model is adequate to support decision making and how to present model results to the public. Presenters provide examples of how models can be used to investigate various scenarios for implementation and beyond.

WASP8: Linking with LSPC. How to Link WASP with a Watershed Model

This video will take you through the process of developing a WASP8 input file linked to LSPC. It will illustrate how to run LSPC, process LSPC output through spreadsheet tool and WRDB and link to WASP8

WRDB: Introduction to the Water Resources Database

This video takes the user through importing observed into WRDB, mapping to WASP Output in WRDB Graph, to creating calibration plots and statistics.

BASINS: Introduction to USEPA's Better Assessment Science Integrating point and Non-point Sources

Tutorial takes the user through the use of US EPA's BASINS GIS Tool. How to create a project, download data and conduct analysis

BASINS: Introduction to Watershed Characterization System (WCS - Plugin)

This tutorial takes the user through the use of the Watershed Characterization System Plugin for US EPA's BASINS GIS Tool.

BASINS: Introduction to WASP Network Tool

This tutorial covers the US EPA's BASINS/WASP Network Tool to development riverine WASP Models
