Public Notices and Meeting Announcements from NDWAC

Meeting Announcements and Materials

EPA announces the dates and locations of NDWAC meetings in the Federal Register (FR). The meetings are open to the public. Details regarding public participation in the meetings are described in the FR notices.

Schedule of meetings

The NDWAC meets either face-to-face or virtually each year and may meet more often.

The NDWAC held a public meeting virtually on October 12, 2021, to allow members of the NDWAC's Consumer Confidence Report Rule Revision (CCR3) Working Group to present their preliminary recommendations to the council on targeted issues relating to CCR rule revisions. More information about EPA's CCR3 charge to the NDWAC and about the CCR3 Working Group may be found at NDWAC working groups.

Here are the CCR3 Working Group's final recommendations provided to the NDWAC in November 2021:

  • Consumer Confidence Report Rule Revision (CCR3) Working Group Report to the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (pdf) (512.23 KB)

The NDWAC will hold a virtual meeting open to the general public on December 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. eastern  time and December 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. eastern time, 2021. During this meeting the NDWAC will primarily focus discussions on developing advice and recommendations to EPA on Consumer Confidence Report rule revisions, following on the Council's October 2021 meeting discussed above. Other agenda topics will include EPA's new charge to the NDWAC requesting that the council provide the agency with advice and recommendations on key issues related to potential revisions to Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) rules, along with plans for a working group to support the NDWAC. The charge to the NDWAC and the solicitation of nominations for the MDBP Rule Revisions Working Group may be found under NDWAC working groups.

The December 1-2, 2021 meeting agenda is:

  • NDWAC Meeting Agenda: December 1-2, 2021 (pdf) (240.23 KB)

Please be aware that actual times may differ from those noted in the meeting agenda. As the day progresses, some sessions may conclude and/or start earlier or later than shown. Additionally, if Day 1 sessions conclude sufficiently ahead of schedule, the NDWAC will begin to conduct deliberations and development of council recommendations related to Consumer Confidence Reports on Day 1, starting with CCR3 Session 2.1 on Advancing Environmental Justice and Supporting Underserved Communities.

Members of the public may register here to attend the December 1-2 meeting. Please see the Federal Register notice for more information about attending, providing written and oral statements, and accessibility for the meeting.

Opportunities to provide statements

Consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, the council holds open meetings and provides opportunities for interested persons to:

  • make statements within a designated time period during the meetings, and
  • file written statements or comments before or after such meetings.

Members of the public must register to present an oral statement or submit a written statement prior to the meeting. Pertinent requirements for this process are included in the FR notice announcing each meeting. Oral statements are typically limited to five minutes at the meeting. It is preferred that only one person present a statement on behalf of a group or organization.
