Summary

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 office in Dallas, Texas, is hereby notifying of the plan to conduct a PCB Trial Burn for the metal reclaim furnace and demonstration of the chemical de-chlorination process at A-Line T.D.S., located at 1500 Main Street, Tonkawa, Oklahoma. The facility is authorized to dispose of solid and liquid PCBs by thermal treatment in its metal reclaim furnace, to dispose of liquid PCBs using its chemical de-chlorination process, and to store PCB wastes for commercial purposes. The EPA has the authority to issue approvals for commercial storage and disposal of PCBs by thermal treatment under Section 6(e) of the Toxic Substances Control Act and in accordance with regulations promulgated pursuant to 40 CFR 761.65 and 40 CFR 761.70 respectively. The PCB Trial Burn and chemical de-chlorination process demonstration is scheduled during the week of August 18, 2025. This notice opens a 30-day comment period, starting June 23, 2025, and ending July 23, 2025.
