PCB Remediation Waste

PCB remediation waste refers to any waste that contains polychlorinated biphenyls resulting from spills, releases, or unauthorized disposal. The classification of this waste is determined by factors such as the concentration of the original PCB source, the date of the release, the current PCB concentration in the materials, and whether the original source was authorized for use.

For a complete definition of PCB remediation waste, refer to Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, specifically section 761.3. Refer to Managing Remediation Waste from Polychlorinated Biphenyls Cleanups for more information.
