American Cleaning Institute, Washington, DC

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. ACI is a trade association representing the U.S. cleaning products market. Over the past decade, ACI has supported the program by communicating Safer Choice information over social media, working to expand the Safer Chemical Ingredients List, and serving as a conduit between cleaning product formulators and suppliers and Safer Choice. ACI also partnered with CleanGredients® in 2016 to encourage its members and stakeholders to use safer chemical ingredients. Safer Choice applauds ACI for its commitment to the program and environmental stewardship.

American Sustainable Business Council, Washington, DC

American Sustainable Business Council
American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. ASBC is a coalition of more than 250,000 business organizations and companies committed to advancing market solutions and policies to support a more sustainable economy. Safer Choice commends ASBC for its far-reaching outreach efforts, most notably, through its Companies for Safer Chemicals campaign, which introduced companies at the national and state levels to the program and its benefits. ASBC fosters greater awareness of the Safer Choice label through social media and outreach events.

Consumer Specialty Products Association, Washington, DC

Consumer Specialty Products Association
The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. CSPA is a trade association representing companies engaged in the manufacture, formulation, distribution, and sale of consumer products for households and institutions. Safer Choice commends CSPA for partnering with the program and key stakeholders to advance safer products among its member companies. Of note, the program recognizes CSPA’s excellent communication support to end-users of Safer Choice-certified products and its notable collaborative approach across industry, Non-Governmental Organizations, and federal policymakers. In 2016, CSPA hosted a number of EPA speakers at its annual meeting, contributing to the engagement of CSPA on issues important to members, including the value of the Safer Choice program. Safer Choice continues to commend CSPA’s efforts in developing a dictionary that, among other attributes, highlights chemicals that have met Safer Choice safer chemical criteria. As of 2016, the Consumer Product Ingredients Dictionary included 196 chemicals.

ISSA, The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, Northbrook, IL

ISSA, The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association
ISSA is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. ISSA is a non-profit trade association that represents every major segment of the institutional and commercial cleaning industry. Safer Choice commends ISSA for featuring Safer Choice at conferences and workshops, sponsoring the CleanGredients® database, conducting strong and diverse outreach efforts, and, for highlighting Safer Choice and its Partner of the Year Awards to thousands of conference attendees at its annual ISSA/INTERCLEAN trade show.

Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County, WA

The Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County (LHWMP) is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. LHWMP is a local government collaborative program in King County/Seattle with a mission to protect and enhance public health and environmental quality by reducing the threat posed by the production, use, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. In 2016, LHWMP promoted the Safer Choice program on its website and via publications, presentations, technical field visits, and LHWMP’s Safer Alternatives Methodology. The Safer Alternatives Methodology provides staff with a method for identifying safer alternatives to hazardous chemicals and chemical products used by small businesses and households in King County. It also incorporates the Safer Choice label and the Safer Chemical Ingredients List, rating them as the highest preferred. Safer Choice applauds LHWMP’s commitment to the program and chemical risk reduction.

McFadden and Associates, LLC, Canby, OR

McFadden and Associates is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. McFadden and Associates have designed some of the most well-known private and professional brand safer and greener cleaning products being used in the U.S. and Canada, and have contracted with more than 15 companies to help formulate and validate their safer and greener assortment of consumer products to meet Safer Choice standards. Safer Choice commends McFadden and Associates for its efforts to advocate the importance of green chemistry and sustainable business practices.

The Ashkin Group, Los Angeles, CA

The Ashkin Group
The Ashkin Group is recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Supporter. The Ashkin Group is a consulting firm working to green the cleaning industry. The organization has offered input that has helped to enhance the Safer Choice program and encourage ingredient disclosure on product labeling. In 2016, the Ashkin Group supported the Safer Choice program by helping to bring green disinfectants to the market, recommending the use of Safer Choice-certified products in the Green Sports Alliance’s Green Cleaning in Sports Facilities workshops, and highlighting the benefits of the Safer Choice program in over two dozen presentations and webinars. Safer Choice commends The Ashkin Group for its strong communication efforts to advance safer cleaning and worker health, its long-time support of the Safer Choice program, and its promotion of the program to various advocacy groups, including the BlueGreen Alliance, Breast Cancer Protection Partners, and Women’s Voices for the Earth.
