Evaluation for Verification of Clean Diesel Technology

Follow these steps for the evaluation part of the verification process:

1. Data analysis and interpretation.

Once testing is complete, EPA will review the data, test reports, and any other related materials to determine if the technology qualifies for verification.

Qualified technologies will be assigned the appropriate level of emission reductions.

2. Notice of Verification.

If all data and supporting documentation are acceptable, EPA will issue an official
Verification Letter.

This letter is legally binding and serves as the main indicator of a technology’s verified status.

3. Technology added to Verified Technologies List

Once the technology is verified, EPA will add it to the Verified Technologies List.

4. Remaining on the Verified Technologies List.

To remain on EPA's Verified Technologies List, the manufacturer must comply with EPA's Requirements for In-Use Emissions Testing.

5. Changes in Verified Technology.

Products sold as a verified technology must be produced and installed as described to EPA.

Any changes to the technology:

  • Must be documented and reported to EPA by emailing Tech_Center@epa.gov; and
  • May require additional testing or separate verification.
