Information Related to Fraudulent EPA Notice of Violation Letters
EPA is aware that businesses may receive falsified Notice of Violation letters demanding payment for alleged environmental violations. Please see the Office of Inspector General's Fraud Alert from July 2024 regarding such a scheme. Please do not take any action outlined in a fraudulent letter, including submitting payment.
