Master Class Webinar IAQ and Health - Managing Asthma for Improved Health and Academic Outcomes

Participants will learn:

  • How to identify, recognize and address indoor environmental asthma triggers and employ the essential actions for effective asthma management in schools.
  • How to convey the impact that combining an effective IAQ management plan with an asthma management plan in schools has on student and staff health outcomes and academic performance.
  • How to describe the actions and behaviors in IAQ Tools for Schools Action Kit and Framework for Effective School IAQ Management can be integrated into a comprehensive asthma management plan to institutionalize policies and practices that create a healthier indoor environment.
  • How to explain the components of the American Lung Association’s Asthma-Friendly Schools Initiative.
  • How to replicate the strategies from an award-winning Texas school district that used IAQ Tools for Schools guidance to develop a comprehensive asthma management plan that reduced asthma attacks, increased attendance and improved academic performance by addressing the “asthma symptom threshold.”
