EMS at EPA Facilities
A majority of EPA facilities have implemented an EMS in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. The EPA integrated EMSs at all of its major offices and laboratories on or before the mandated deadline of December 31, 2005. There are currently 35 EMS programs implemented at EPA sites that include its Headquarters office in Washington, D.C., special program laboratories, and each of its regional offices and laboratories.
