Updated Annual Pesticide Registration Maintenance Fees for 2026

All section 3 and section 24(c) registrations are subject to an annual maintenance fee described in FIFRA Section 4(i)(1). The amount of this fee varies from year to year depending on the authorizing legislation. The fee per product varies because the fee is dependent upon the projected number of products for which registrants will pay this fee.

How to Request Fee Discounts and Waivers: See the “2026 Pesticide Maintenance Fee Instructions” PDF below. In addition to general instructions, this document outlines the procedures for requesting a fee discount for individual product registration actions, and maintenance fee waivers for minor agricultural use products and public health pesticides. Failure to send the requested documents may disqualify the submission for the requested discount or waiver and may be rejected.

How To Pay Maintenance Fees: Maintenance fees may be paid online via credit card or electronic fund transfer. To make a payment online, visit www.pay.gov. Please note that checks, bank drafts, and money orders will not be accepted. After payment, email your filing to maintfee@epa.gov. Paper copies will not be accepted. To pay by wire transfer, you will need to include the cost of wire transfer fees in your total payment. EPA will not offset the costs for these fees. Fees paid less than amount due will require an additional payment and will incur additional transaction costs.

Deadline: Registrants must pay the pesticide registration maintenance fee by Thursday, January 15, 2026.
