Webinar - Learn about the CO-Benefits Risk Assessment (COBRA) Health Impacts Screening and Mapping Tool

Interested in quantifying the health benefits of air, climate, and energy policies and programs? This February 2022 webinar provided an overview of EPA’s CO-Benefits Risk Assessment (COBRA) Health Impacts Screening and Mapping Tool. COBRA is a free screening-model that helps state and local governments:

  • Explore how changes in emissions of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), ammonia (NH3), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from air, climate, and energy policies and programs affect air quality and human health at the county, state, regional, and national levels.
  • Estimate the economic value of the health benefits associated with reductions in emissions of PM2.5, SO2, NOx, and VOCs.
  • Create maps to visually convey the distribution of results.

This webinar introduces the topic of health benefits analysis, provided an overview of the COBRA methodology, and highlighted key differences between the Desktop Edition and Web Edition of the tool. The webinar also included a demo of the COBRA tool and a question-and-answer session.
