Urban Waters 10-Year Anniversary Workshop Sessions - Dec. 1, 2021
The Urban Waters 10-Year Anniversary Workshop Session featured two workshops to identify strategic actions to increase UWFP capacity to advance climate equity and job creation.
Goals of the Climate Equity Workshop:
- Explore ways in which Urban Waters Federal Partnership locations are leveraging their unique role as multi-stakeholder platforms to promote a holistic understanding of local climate threats and identify and advance multi-benefit solutions that garner broad community support.
- The audience will have the opportunity to explore ways in which UWFPs can launch or support initiatives that develop local leadership capacity, so that a broader spectrum of the community participates in discussions and decisions related to climate mitigation and resilience.
Goals of the Youth Engagement and Job Creation Workshop:
- Share federal, NGO, academic and location perspectives on job creation and brainstorm practical steps to increase locational job capacity.
Both workshops will improve Partnership-wide awareness of these priority issues, identify synergies across organizations, and lay the groundwork for increasing program impact.
