Arizona - Sonora Regional Coordination
The Arizona/Sonora Regional Coordinators meet twice a year to lead the development of action plans and support regional task forces. Regional representatives from both sides of the border, as well as from binational organizations such as the North American Development Bank (NADBank) and the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC); community organizations and civil society, academic institutions, tribes and the private sector participate in the Border Program’s coordinating bodies as regional task forces. Regional Coordinators are led by representatives from federal, state, local and tribal governments, among them representatives of organizations responsible for the environment, public health, natural resources and emergency response from both sides of the border. Such coordinating bodies encourage the public to participate in the implementation of the border program.
Task Forces
Task Forces coordinate meetings where border stakeholders can collaborate among themselves on studies and projects, share information, raise individual concerns to government officials, and learn about ongoing efforts in the border region.
