Protecting Tribal Air Quality in EPA's South Central Region

Federally recognized tribes seeking to establish an environmental presence on their reservation(s) have been provided the ability and resources to do so through several funding mechanisms administered by the EPA.

The General Assistance Program (GAP) (General Assistance Program Act, 42 U.S.C. § 43686) is used to support infrastructure and capacity building efforts.

The December 2015 draft revision of this guidance document replaces the original document approved on October 2, 2012 “Protecting Tribal Air: Options and Opportunities” to update vital information.
