4. What should permittees and laboratories do first?
Permittees should first confirm receipt of the DMR-QA study package by the stated Address Verification deadline in the DMR-QA announcement sent by EPA. See the Address Verification form instructions in the DMR-QA package and submit the acknowledgement of receipt to the state DMR-QA coordinator via postal mail or e-mail.
Permittees must also send a copy of the enclosed instructions/checklists to their in-house and contract laboratories. The permittee specifies on the checklist which analyses the laboratory will perform. See Permittee Instructions for more information. Upon receipt of instructions, laboratories must order samples from an accredited Proficiency Test (PT) Provider listed in the DMR-QA study package. This should be done early to allow sufficient time to perform the required analyses and send ungraded results to the PT Provider prior to the close of the annual DMR-QA study. See Laboratory Instructions included in the DMR-QA study package for more information.
