Sandy Wastewater System Improvements Project – Phase 1
Population Served by Project: 11,075
Project Type: Combined
Project Description
The Wastewater System Improvements Project Phase 1 will improve three major components of the City's existing wastewater facilities to provide a year-round discharge to a water body with greater assimilative capacity. The project will include: 1) rehabilitation of the collection system in the City’s two largest sewersheds; 2) construction of the new Eastside Satellite membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment plant; and 3) construction of a new Sandy River outfall. The purpose of the project is to reduce peak flows, expand wastewater treatment capacity, and provide a year-round discharge to a larger receiving waterbody.
