Since its first loan closing in 2018, the WIFIA program has provided billions of dollars in loans to communities across the country and has an active pipeline of future projects. These projects will help mitigate the impacts of drought, replace lead service lines, manage stormwater, address PFAS and other emerging contaminants, and modernize aging infrastructure.

To date, the WIFIA program has closed 152 loans totaling $23 billion in credit assistance to help finance $51 billion for water infrastructure projects and create 172,000 jobs.
