Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project
Population Served by Project: 16,000
Project Description
The Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project is a potable reuse project that will augment the Carpinteria Groundwater Basin with advanced treated recycled water. The district will construct an advanced water purification facility to treat effluent from the existing wastewater treatment plant. Treated water will be injected into the Carpinteria Groundwater Basin for later extraction by existing wells. By completing this project, Carpinteria Valley Water District will create a reliable, drought-resistant supply of local water that can be delivered for municipal and agricultural uses.
