Tracking Matrix

Using publicly available information, EPA compiles information on completed renewable energy projects installed on contaminated sites such as brownfields, Superfund and hazardous waste cleanup sites, mine lands, and landfills.

The RE-Powering Tracking Matrix Publication provides summary statistics, discusses federal and state policy, and analyzes market trends. Renewable energy projects are a great way for local governments and other site owners to use landfills or other contaminated lands to increase revenue that puts land that might not otherwise have options back into productive reuse. The Tracking Matrix is used by project developers, local and state government professionals, and other stakeholders.

The RE-Powering Tracking Matrix Site List is an Excel spreadsheet of the sites to allow for easier sorting and filtering of information for completed projects.
