()
USS Freedom (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Ignacio D. Perez/Released)
The Uniform National Discharge Standards (UNDS) program establishes national discharge standards for vessels of the Armed Forces that operate nationwide in coastal and inland waters.  These national standards will reduce the environmental impacts associated with vessel discharges, stimulate the development of improved pollution control devices and advance the development of environmentally sound military vessels.
