Project Description

The Alternative Water Source Program will create a sustainable, long-term source of water supply by constructing a new, publicly-owned drinking water infrastructure system which is necessary to meet current and future water supply needs. The 55.27 million gallon a day system will deliver treated water from Lake Michigan to provide drinking water to over 388,000 people.
