Unified Southern Sarpy Wastewater System
Population Served by Project: 19,000
Project Description
The Unified Southern Sarpy Wastewater System project will create an entirely new regional wastewater system to serve southern Sarpy County, Nebraska. Lack of sanitary sewer service in southern Sarpy County, Nebraska has become an impediment to economic development. Project components will include construction of pump stations, lift stations, two dozen miles of dual force main interceptors and gravity main interceptors, as well as treatment of cooling water blow-down flows from data centers in the northern end of the Springfield basin. By completing this project, the Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency will leverage economies of scale to reduce overall costs for current and future wastewater treatment needs.
