Water Reliability Program - Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit

Borrower: Santa Clara Valley Water District Public Facilities Financing Corporation
Location: California
Invited WIFIA Loan Amount: $579 million

Population Served by Project: 2 million

Project Description

The Water Reliability Program includes three projects that will expand the Pacheco Reservoir. This program will make key improvements to the Anderson Dam to expand water supply and supply reliability, protect public safety by helping reach compliance with regulatory requirements, and support resilience to the impacts of climate change. Efforts will include retrofitting the Anderson Dam to resolve seismic stability deficiencies, restore reservoir storage capacity, and expand flow capacity while protecting aquatic resources, water supply, and groundwater recharge. These projects are essential to managing imported water from Silicon Valley Water District, which represents approximately 55 percent of Santa Clara County's water supply.
