We Can Help

Finding the right person to speak to about a specific environmental subject can be difficult. That is why the US EPA Region 8 Information Service Center was created in 1993. The Information Center processes numerous inquiries pertaining to such topics as:

  • Storm water
  • Drinking water standards
  • Environmental grants and hotlines
  • Environmental Justice
  • Green and healthy homes
  • Household waste disposal
  • Outdoor air quality
  • Lead
  • Mold
  • Pesticides
  • Pollution prevention
  • Radon
  • Recycling
  • Superfund sites 
  • Vehicle emissions

Environmental Guidance

Inquiries are received via telephone and email. Information Center staff may provide contact information for appropriate resources such as websites, government agencies or specific US EPA staff related to the subject of the inquiry.

Spills should be reported to the National Response Center at 800-424-8802.

The Information Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Mountain Time), excluding federal government holidays.

Our Information Specialists:

  • Maintain an extensive directory of US EPA contacts, websites and hotlines;
  • May provide direction to the appropriate person or agency; and
  • Respond to email requests from the EPA Region 8 states as well as from other USA locations or foreign countries.

Please note that we do not provide research services for school assignments. 


Visitors

You are advised to make an appointment to see specific staff by contacting that Regional staff member directly. All visitors must have a valid photo ID, must pass through security screening and must obtain a visitor pass. Visitors must be escorted by a Regional employee at all times.
