Finding the right person to speak to about a specific environmental subject can be difficult. That is why the US EPA Region 8 Information Service Center was created in 1993. The Information Center processes numerous inquiries pertaining to such topics as:
- Storm water
- Drinking water standards
- Environmental grants and hotlines
- Green and healthy homes
- Household waste disposal
- Outdoor air quality
- Pollution prevention
- Superfund sites
- Vehicle emissions
Inquiries are received via telephone and email. Information Center staff may provide contact information for appropriate resources such as websites, government agencies or specific US EPA staff related to the subject of the inquiry.
Spills should be reported to the National Response Center at 800-424-8802.
The Information Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Mountain Time), excluding federal government holiday.
