How far has contamination spread in the aquifer? Is it moving toward our drinking water?
Groundwater contamination has been consistently detected in the Red Hill tank area. Contaminants believed to be associated with the Red Hill facility have been detected less consistently at outlying groundwater monitoring wells located about ¼ to ½ mile from the facility. Additional monitoring wells are planned further away from the Red Hill facility to determine whether contaminants are present beyond the existing monitoring well network.
