How does EPA know that the drinking water at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) and Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR) drinking water systems is safe and clean?
EPA conducted a thorough assessment of evidence in close coordination with the Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH). The assessment revealed there is no evidence of residual fuel or other measurable contamination remaining in the JBPHH and the AMR public water systems stemming from the November 2021 Red Hill release. EPA evaluated thousands of water quality samples, remedial actions, EPA and DOH inspections and investigations, and Navy documentation and analysis.
