Description: In partnership with the City of Statesboro, Keep Statesboro Bulloch Beautiful and GreenRock Recycling, the Ogeechee Riverkeeper maintains two litter booms on Little Lotts Creek, holds bimonthly public cleanups and monthly water quality testing to provide awareness and education as well as volunteer opportunities.
Project Partners: City of Statesboro, Keep Statesboro Bulloch Beautiful, GreenRock Recycling and Osprey Iniative
Current Project Outcomes: 115 volunteer hours, more than 200 pounds of trash, 4 water quality monitors, Stakeholder Committee with quarterly meetings
Long-Term Project Outcomes: Water quality improvement, consistent data on the area, to educate and increase public awareness about litter's impact on waterways.
