Detailed Project Information
Description: This program is a partnership between Reef Relief, Proudsource, Replenysh, and the Hyatt Centric of Key West; we have partnered to create a closed-loop circular economy where the profits are donated towards protecting our reefs. Proudsource provides aluminum bottles to the customers at the Hyatt Centric. The Hyatt has a recycling drop-off where the aluminum bottles, as well as other aluminum, can be dropped off. They are then picked up by Replenysh to be recycled into new aluminum bottles. The profits from this program are donate to Reef Relief to contribute towards our mission to protect coral reefs.
Project Partners: We would like to recognize Proudsource, Replenysh, and the Hyatt Centric of Key West for being generous partners in this program to support our mission.
Current Project Outcomes: As of April 1st, 332 lbs of aluminum cans have been recycled, leading to 45 cubic feet of space saved in a landfill, 759 grams of less carbon, 148 gallons of oil, and 2324 kWh of electricity saved.
Long-Term Project Outcomes: The long-term goal of this project is to eliminate the amount of plastic waste produced by traditional plastic bottles. The circular model of this program leaves no waste behind. All aluminum created in this project is reused.
