Description: Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves continues our ongoing partnership with Leave No Trace to address human impacts on spoil islands in the Indian River Lagoon. The project champion tackles human impact issues through educational workshops, lectures, tabling events, and island cleanup workdays in the 6 county region. The program focuses on the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace, with an emphasis on the 3rd principle "Dispose of Waste Properly".
Project Partners: Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics
Current Project Outcomes: March 2022- January 2023: 413 community members reached
Long-Term Project Outcomes: Greater public awareness and implementation of the Leave No Trace 7 Principles with an emphasis on the 3rd principle "dispose of waste properly."
