Volume 5 - Biogenic Sources

This document provides technical documentation of biogenic source emissions estimation as a part of the ten volumes of the Emissions Inventory Improvement Program (EIIP) materials. These volumes provide standard procedures for calculating air emissions data with targeted quality objectives using cost effective approaches, but in some cases have become outdated.

“Volume 5 – Biogenic Sources Preferred Methods” provides a reference for estimating emissions from lightning and oil and gas seeps. Section 3.1 in this document is outdated and replaced by newer information using the latest version of the Biogenic Emission Inventory System

  • Biogenic Sources Preferred Methods (pdf) (329.8 KB, May 1996)
This document presents a standard approach to developing biogenic emission estimates for ozone inventories, and VOC and NOx emission estimates from the natural sources of lightning and oil and gas seeps
