Green Power Equivalency Calculator

The Green Power Equivalency Calculator can help you to better communicate your green power use to interested stakeholders by translating it from kilowatt-hours (kWh) into more understandable terms and concrete examples. Another calculator housed within EPA’s Energy and Environment website also translates your total greenhouse gas emissions (metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent) into equivalencies. Organizations should review the Making Environmental Claims section of this website before making claims associated with green power use.

Please note that these estimates are approximate. See the equations and sources used for this calculator on the Calculations and References page.
