IPM Run Files for Supporting Scenarios

Download IPM run files for the scenarios supporting development of the Clean Power Plan using the links in the table below. Click on the IPM run name in the first column of the table below to download a file. The files are posted in one of two formats, a zipped archive or an excel spreadsheet, and contain the following:

  • More detailed information on the modeling framework, specific scenarios, assumptions, and other important details of the analysis can be found in the GHG Mitigation Measures TSD and Demand Side Energy Efficiency TSD.
  • Detailed IPM input and output files (i.e., .DAT, System Summary Report, .RPE, .CAR, and TAC files) for the listed runs.  Guide to IPM Output Files: EPA Base Case v.5.15 (pdf) (270.31 KB, 08/2015)

IPM Run Name IPM Run Description
BB2: 70% (zip) (97.4 MB) Existing NGCC fleet constrained to operate at an average capacity factor of 70%. Increases in NGCC utilization from base case levels offset 1:1 with a decrease in utilization from existing coal steam, IGCC, or oil/gas steam boilers >25 MW.
BB2: 75% (zip) (97.3 MB) Existing NGCC fleet constrained to operate at an average capacity factor of 75%. Increases in NGCC utilization from base case levels must be offset 1:1 with a decrease in utilization from existing coal steam, IGCC, or oil/gas steam boilers >25 MW.
BB2: 80% (zip) (97.3 MB) Existing NGCC fleet constrained to operate at an average capacity factor of 80%. Increases in NGCC utilization from base case levels offset 1:1 with a decrease in utilization from existing coal steam, IGCC, or oil/gas steam boilers >25 MW.
BB3: Cost-Effectiveness (zip) (97.15 MB) Incremental RE from 2012 required to deploy at building block 3 generation levels. Incremental RE replaces projected Base Case generation from existing coal steam, IGCC, NGCC, and oil/gas steam boilers >25 MW on a 1:1 basis.
BB3: Generation Assignment (zip) (97.42 MB) Incremental RE from 2012 required to deploy at building block 3 generation levels.
