Overview of Numeric Nutrient Criteria Development for Scientific and Technical Assistance Groups

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has developed an Overview of Numeric Nutrient Criteria Development to assist members of scientific and technical assistance groups with their role in supporting states, territories, and authorized Tribes with numeric nutrient criteria development. These overview materials, a two-page summary and a more detailed slideshow, provide support for newly formed groups, new members of existing groups, or anyone who may benefit from a review of key numeric nutrient criteria development concepts. Included information addresses common questions about what numeric nutrient criteria are and how to develop them.

Both sets of materials link extensively to N-STEPS Online to ensure users have easy access to in-depth information. In addition to facilitating access to resources relevant to criteria development, the slideshow offers users the opportunity to adapt and reuse the slides for project-specific purposes.
